Inspired by the idea of "House of Materials", z axis design studio envisaged to design a dwelling which is an ode to the elements that shape our built environment—a place where form meets function, and authenticity reigns supreme. The architectural effort was to deliver a house, which showcases exposed materials—wood, concrete, steel, and glass - defining the character of the residence. With aesthetics taken care of, the architects also ensured functionality was built into every element of the design. This was necessary to ensure the 3 generations of the family could co-exist with equal measure of community and privacy. The communal spaces like the central atrium on ground level and an amphitheatre on terrace level played perfect spots for the family to get together along with their friends.
