For their weekend home, the client sought a home which offered modern amenities to its residents without overpowering the natural surroundings of the quant coconut grove, it will be nestled in. This architectural brief, inspired z axis design studio to work with the concept of a box in a garden, allowing for interplay of modern lines in serene natural surroundings. The house layout prioritises views of the garden from every room. Large windows and glass doors connect interior spaces to the outdoors. There is also emphasis to establish a seamless flow between multiple communal spaces - kitchen, dining, living and outside amphitheatre. Large screens were deployed from certain sides to lend privacy to personal quarters. Some degree of playfulness was introduced in the kids quarter by splitting their living areas onto multiple levels.
